Managed the controls upgrade for an old treatment plant in Montreal. Cooperated with an environmental firm to iron out the treatment process. Provided a functional description for proper programming. Incorporated a new PLC and HMI system for reliable operations.
CP Toronto WWTP
Complete controls and electrical upgrade, including a new electrical room incorporating a new PLC panel and MCC. Isolated controls equipment from corrosive atmosphere of plant. Replaced aging dissolved air floatation unit (DAF) for improved solids separation. Added remote access for troubleshooting and code improvements.
CN Memphis WWTP
LRDL was the process architect for CN Johnson Yard’s wastewater management system. Performed complete mechanical and electrical design and automation for the treatment plant. Provided on-site construction supervision to ensure our standards for quality were met.
CN Taschereau WWTP -Lachine, Quebec
Site investigation, preliminary design and detailed mechanical design drawings for collection and treatment system for rail facility in Montreal, Quebec. Project included review of site history and investigation of buried utilities including the review of reports written in French. The Treatment Plant removes hydrocarbon fraction from the water stream suitable for discharge to a rainwater sewer system. Modifications to existing systems included the design of engine coolant recovery and recycling system.
CN Symington Oil Water Separator Upgrade -Winnipeg, Manitoba
Review of existing oil water separator system operation and design of collection and treatment system in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Provide preliminary and detail mechanical design for enhanced separation of chemically and mechanically emulsified oil from the wastewater stream. The design reused the buried separator vaults and salvaged the oil water separator equipment for use in the new treatment process.
